Soaps are all about secrets, and there's a big one on The Bold and the Beautiful right now as Carter and Steffy want to keep their special night together a secret! Spoilers for the episode on Friday, August 28, indicate that Carter and Steffy's secret is coming to a head.

A Moment in Time

Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) enjoyed a very strong friendship at work. She supported him when he and his bride, Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire), were having fertility problems. Carter has wanted to have a child for a while, and now that dream has had to be rethought.

Daphne walked out on Carter, not being able to process the pain she sensed he was feeling after sharing her diagnosis. Around the same time, Steffy felt her marriage was over upon learning in Monaco that Finn (Tanner Novlan), her husband, withheld from her that dangerous Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) was right there on the beach.

Carter and Steffy turned to each other and spent the night together in Eric's office at Forrester Creations. The evening involved alcohol, intimacy, and more. The two came thisclose to being discovered by a Forrester cleaning crew the next day.

Also, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) caught the couple talking about their secret later in the week, but he didn't catch any specifics. He encouraged his daughter to forget about "Carter." That caught Steffy off guard until she realized that Ridge was talking about Sheila Carter -- not Carter Walton. But how long can the secret be kept?

Secrets and Lies

On Friday's episode, watch for Carter and Steffy's secret to come to a head. The last two people that they want to learn about their night together are Daphne Rose and Finn. Others may learn the secret before their spouses do.

Carter is advocating that he and Steffy keep their intimate night a secret, or else they would lose everything. Steffy understands what he's saying, but she believes in honesty. How can she fault Finn for not being honest with her while she's keeping a secret this big from him?

But in fairness to Steffy, she never would have turned to Carter, who needed a friend, if Finn had never lied. Daphne Rose likewise jumped the gun by announcing that she was going back to Paris. We have four people who never meant to hurt anyone. It's possible that if they all forgive each other once the truth comes out, they can move on with their marriages.
