Moses, who recently modeled for Burberry, says he’s grateful for his parents’ support and musical influence

Moses Martin is following in his dad’s footsteps.

The 20-year-old son of Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow played his first London gig on Wednesday, Aug. 26, in the same area of the British city where Martin’s band Coldplay got their start. Moses brought his band People I’ve Met to play at The Hawley Arms in Camden.

Coldplay also played their first show in Camden in 1998 when the band was still performing under the name Starfish.

In an interview with Rolling Stone UK from earlier this week, Moses addressed having parents in the entertainment business, admitting that he does benefit from his familial connection.

ā€œIt’s definitely something to be reckoned with. I think the ultimate thing is that I’m very grateful to be in the position I’m in and I have a musical DNA through my parents,ā€ Moses told the publication. ā€œMy parents are incredible, and I’m very grateful to be in the position I’m in.ā€

ā€œBut what I’m trying to say is that yes, we acknowledge it and we’re grateful for it, but we’re doing something that is special and unique to us, and that we really care about,ā€ he added. ā€œAnd so ultimately, whatever gets people to listen to the music really, like wherever they come from, we welcome any fan. We really just love it and I particularly am grateful also to have parents who are supportive of this because they know what it’s like.ā€

The younger Martin child has recently stepped out more in the spotlight. Moses kicked off his modeling career earlier this summer, starring in Burberry’s campaign titled ā€œEscape to the Countryside.ā€ The ad featured Moses alongside models Edie Campbell, Nora Attal and Sang Woo Kim ā€œas friends embarking on a trip to the British countryside,ā€ per a press release.

The campaign video was also soundtracked by Moses’ band, People I’ve Met. The brand uses the song, ā€œFor Hire,ā€ which is said to ā€œevoke the sense of freedom and limitless possibilities of a road trip.ā€

Then, this past December, Moses joined mom Paltrow at the premiere of her film, Marty Supreme, making his red carpet debut at the event.

While Paltrow sported a strapless black gown from her label Gwyn, her musician son wore a brown and black suede sweater with matching corduroy pants and shoes.
