Dutton Ranch star Natalie Alyn Lind is clarifying her character's age.
Fans have been confused over just how old Oreana is given that she is dating Carter (Finn Little), who is in high school, on the show.
The actress confirmed that her character is older than Carter.
Dutton Ranch star Natalie Alyn Lind is setting the record straight on Oreana's age once and for all.
The 26-year-old actress addressed the general confusion surrounding her character's age on the Yellowstone spinoff and confirmed that her no-nonsense cowgirl is, in fact, older than her high school boyfriend Carter (Finn Little).
"Everybody keeps on making these references to the fact that they think my character is supposed to be a high school student," Lind told PEOPLE. "A huge part of our storyline is that my character is supposed to be years older than Finn's. My character is supposed to be 24, and his character's supposed to be 19."

She added, "I always find it really funny when [fans are] like, 'She's supposed to be playing high school.' I'm like, no, not really, but you'll see more about that later."
Lind also expressed her hope that a second season of the series — which has not been officially greenlit by Paramount — would allow the space to "dive more into her background and her story to show who she is as a person."
Oreana struck up a relationship with Carter after he rescued her from an abusive cowboy ex-boyfriend at a rodeo. Their romance is further complicated by the fact that they come from rival ranches, with Oreana being the granddaughter of ruthless rancher Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening) and Carter the ward of Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser).

While speaking with PEOPLE, Lind noted that she views Oreana and Carter's relationship as the "younger versions" of his parents on the series.

"That plays into the fact that Oreana's childhood was robbed from her, because of her family and the environment that she grew up in ... And there's a youthfulness that Carter brings out in Oreana," she added.
Lind continued, "She is so scared to accept love, and you see Carter maturing into himself and becoming a man, and I think that you're able to see Oreana go back to that kind of whimsical childhood that she never got — and they bring that out in each other."
