"If you grew up watching daytime television in the 1980s and '90s, you know that Marcy Walker didn’t just play characters—she captured our hearts," the fundraiser reads. "But beyond the glamour of the screen and the joy of our recent reunion, life brings real-world challenges. Today, Marcy needs our help."

The GoFundMe was launched by Walker's friends, Johanna Humphries, and the writer Melissa Braverman.

Braverman also organized and hosted a livestream event on June 7 on that reunited Walker with her on-screen *Santa Barbara *flame, A Martinez.

"This isn't just a trip down memory lane—it’s a gathering of community, love, and vital support. Marcy has recently been facing significant health challenges. 100% of the proceeds from this livestream event—will go directly toward helping Marcy cover her rising medical bills and healthcare costs," she wrote in the event listing at the time.

The day the fundraiser was posted, Braverman shared another note to her Facebook, which read, "Since our recent livestream event with Marcy Walker and [A Martinez], many people have asked how we can continue to support Marcy through her health challenges. The GoFundMe campaign for her is now live. Please consider donating or sharing the link. Every gesture makes a difference."

Originally from Kentucky, Walker lucked out when her first screen role in Hollywood ended up becoming her signature: *All My Children*'s Liza. She'd remain in the role from 1981 to 1984, and return from 1995 to 2005. During her time in the entertainment industry, she dated her *AMC *costar Michael E. Knight, became engaged to Bronson Pinchot, and married Billy Warlock.

She married Doug Smith in 1999 and left Hollywood after her final appearance on *All My Children*, devoting her time instead to youth ministry in Edmond, Okla.

"God called me to something more," she told the *Edmond Outlook *in 2012. "I put my resume out there, and I got a call from LifeChurch.tv asking if I'd come to Edmond, Okla. I thought, 'Oklahoma? Really? This isn't part of the plan.'"
