Argentina take on Austria in a tantalising Group J clash with Lionel Scaloni's side looking to book their place in the knockout stages.

The Qatar 2022 champions got off to an excellent start with a dominant 3-0 win over Algeria in their opening clash, with Lionel Messi rolling back the years with a superb hat-trick.

His triple saw him draw level with Miroslav Klose's as the tournament's joint all-time record goalscorer, with 16 goals, and the veteran - who turns 39 on Wednesday - will be aiming to break that record on Monday.

The reigning champions top Group J on goal difference and will be confident of progressing to the knockout rounds, while Austria sit second, also on three points, after beating tournament debutants Jordan 3-1.

When is Argentina vs Austria?

How can I watch it?

Viewers in the UK can watch the match live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with coverage beginning at 5.30pm BST.

Team news

Gonzalo Montiel is expected to miss out on the game as a precautionary measure after he was withdrawn at half-time against Algeria with a hamstring issue. Lautaro Martinez struggled in Argentina's opener and was replaced in the second half, so Julian Alvarez may get the nod to partner Messi up front.

Austria are likely to be without right-back Stefan Posch, who has a broken jaw and is being handled with care, although the injury does not require surgery.

Predicted line-ups

Argentina XI: Emiliano Martinez, Molina, Romero, Lisandro Martinez, Medina, De Paul, Mac Allister, Fernandez, Almada, Messi, Alvarez

Austria XI: Alexander Schlager, Laimer, Lienhart, Alaba, Mwene, Seiwald, Xaver Schlager, Schmid, Chukwuemeka, Sabitzer, Kalajdzic
