Love Island‘s Sol Mýa opened up about having a breast reduction, saying that she still “hates” her boobs

Love Island‘s Sol Mýa is opening up about one of her biggest “insecurities.”

In a candid video shared to TikTok on Wednesday, Aug. 26, the reality star, who appeared on season 8 of the popular show, spoke about getting a breast reduction.

Mýa, 24, said that while “a lot of people think that I got my boobs done,” she actually had a reduction. “It was like, COVID era,” she recalled. “I actually had 38DDs. Right now I’m at, like, a 36C, I believe.”

The star said that she sought out the procedure because of back pain. “I actually was that friend that was like stretching every five seconds because like, it’s heavy,” she explained.

Mýa continued, “A lot of people want boobs and personally, I f---ing hate them. I hate them. I would get another breast reduction, honestly.”

She shared that the procedure was “free” because it was deemed medically necessary. “Also, I had to get it approved but it actually was free since I was having a lot of back pain and I did have a way smaller frame at the time,” she said. “It was covered by insurance.”

In the caption, Mýa wrote, “Surprisingly, they are unfortunately one of my insecurities 🤍.”

Celebrities like Raven-Symoné, Sherri Shepherd and Sunny Hostin have opened up about getting breast reductions in the past.

During the season 2 premiere of her daytime talk show, Sherri, in 2023, Shepherd, 59, admitted that it’s “bittersweet” because she loved her old breasts. However, they started to take a toll on her body.

“I thought I was carrying around the weight of the world but really it was the weight of my boobs,” she said with a laugh. “All jokes aside, they were so heavy I was slouching all the time. It started becoming really painful, my back was hurting very badly.”
