However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not among the guests. Harry and Markle, who live in California, drew notice for their absence. There had been speculation over whether the king might see his younger son while in the U.S., but no such meeting took place.

The chatter grew louder due to Charles’ choice of words during his address to Congress. He spoke about the history of Britain and the United States as one of “reconciliation and renewal,” later using a similar theme at the White House state dinner, saying, “The story of Britain and America is one of reconciliation.”

Some Reddit users praised Charles’ handling of the visit, while others argued that the remarks had nothing to do with the Sussexes. The Palace has not suggested that Charles’ comments were aimed at Harry or Markle.
