The New Orleans Saints released multiple players after a mistake-filled game, moving on from both their long snapper and a kick returner. Here's what you about each transaction:
LS Cal Adomitis released from the 53-man roster
Adomitis was the team's second choice to fill in for Zach Wood while the longtime long snapper was injured; their first tryout, Scott Daly, only spent one game in New Orleans on the practice squad before leaving for a promotion to the Chicago Bears' 53-man roster. Adomitis had some hiccups through his three games, including an untimely penalty deep in Saints territory during Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings. This would be a quick return for Wood, so we'll see if he's ahead of schedule or if the Saints have another long snapper in mind for their upcoming matchup with the New York Giants.
CB Jayden Price waived from the 53-man roster
Price stuck with the Saints after a solid training camp working in the slot behind Jonas Sanker and chipping in on special teams, but a big mistake in the kicking game may have cost him his roster spot. Price fumbled the opening kickoff of the second against Minnesota, quickly turning what had been a narrow Saints lead into a big deficit. Saints coach Kellen Moore has been criticized for allowing too many turnovers and penalties in critical moments. This could be the first big disciplinary move we've seen from him. The Saints need to develop a culture of accountability.
WR Brock Rechsteiner waived amid suspension
Rechsteiner, a rookie wide receiver from Jacksonville State, was suspended for the first six weeks after testing positive for a prohibited substance and attempting to manipulate the test results. He still has one week left to serve on that suspension but he'll be a free agent when he is cleared to play. We'll see if the Saints bring him back on the practice squad, but that feels unlikely after they took this step.

RB Ulysses Bentley IV released from the practice squad
Bentley was brought in recently after a hamstring injury landed Travis Etienne Jr. on injured reserve; the Saints didn't promote him for either of their last two games, instead opting to split carries between Alvin Kamara, Kendre Miller, and rookie backup CJ Donaldson. With Zamir White still on the practice squad, they may be content to only carry four running backs through the next two games before their bye week. Etienne is expected back when they return for their next home game in November.
WR Trey Palmer released from the practice squad
The Saints claimed Palmer off of waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last summer but a lingering hamstring kept him from getting into any games, and he had a respectable training camp even if he didn't climb the depth chart as hoped. With Jordyn Tyson's return on the horizon and a glut of receivers on the 53-man roster (Chris Olave, Devaughn Vele, Bryce Lance, and Barion Brown) and practice squad (Cedric Tillman, Jalen Moreno-Cropper, and Kyrese Rowan), the Saints are whittling down the group. We'll see if Kevin Austin Jr. returns after being waived last week.
CB Decamerion Richardson re-signed to the 53-man roster
Richardson was claimed off of waivers to start the regular season (from the Las Vegas Raiders, who drafted him out of Mississippi State), and he dressed for a couple of games while backup corner Martin Emerson Jr. was dealing with an injury. There may be more snaps to go around now that the team has waived Jayden Price. He has NFL size and speed at 6-foot-2, 192 pounds with 4.3 speed in the 40-yard dash.
