AI has offered three explanations for Donald Trump's unusual rear end bulge while claiming that "one detail matters" when it comes to determining what it could be.
The 80-year-old president has been spotted sporting a boxy bulge protruding from the back of his suit jacket on several occasions over the past few months, sparking wild rumors ranging from him using diapers to an exoskeleton as critics call his health into question.
The unusual rear-end shape was first noticed during a 60 Minutes interview back in April. It was then seen again in footage from a Long Island rally shared by former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

On Saturday, the bulge was on display again as Trump danced in front of a crowd following his speech at a Tennessee rally. The Mirror US asked AI what the strange protrusion could be and here are the results.
"If you mean the strange, box-shaped bulge beneath the back of Donald Trump's suit, which has been circulating in viral videos and photos in 2026, the honest answer is that nobody has publicly confirmed what is causing it," ChatGPT responded to our question.
However, the AI chatbot offered three explanations. The first was "poorly fitting clothing."

"His suit jacket may be bunching or folding awkwardly as he moves," the chatbot suggested. The second explanation was "an item beneath the suit."

"Some people have speculated about a pouch, medical device or protective equipment, but there is no confirmed evidence for any of these," ChatGPT noted.
Finally, the chatbot suggested that the shape could also be "an adult diaper," noting, "This has become a popular online rumour, but the images do not establish that he is wearing one."
"Bottom line: The bulge is visible in the footage, but its cause remains unknown. Claims that it proves he is wearing a diaper or concealing a medical condition are speculation, not established fact," the Chatbot added.

When sent the recent video of Trump at his Tennessee rally, which was posted to X by Trump aide Margo Martin, the AI tool also struggled to determine exactly what the bulge was. However, the chatbot concluded that whether it is something hidden underneath the president's clothing could be determined by one detail.
"One detail matters: does the bulge stay rigid and in exactly the same position as Trump moves, or does it shift and crease with the fabric? If it stays rigid, that could suggest something underneath the clothing, but it still wouldn't tell us what the object is," ChatGPT said.
The White House has dismissed theories about the bulge
The White House has continued to dismiss wild theories about the odd shape. When the Daily Beast raised questions about the bulge last month, White House spokesman Davis Ingle responded: "Only the glue-sniffing degenerates at the failing Daily Beast would obsessively push baseless conspiracy theories about President Trump, and that's because they suffer from a severe, crippling disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome that has completely rotted their peanut-sized brains."
He went on: "President Trump's sharpness, unmatched energy, relentless work ethic, and historic accessibility stand in stark contrast to what we saw during the last administration when Democrats and the legacy media intentionally covered up Joe Biden's serious mental and physical decline from the American people."
