Shooting outside singer Chris Brown's home leads to arrest of LA man

A shooting outside Chris Brown's home led to the arrest of a Los Angeles man, police say.
Shortly before 4:15 p.m. local time on May 1, authorities responded to a shooting that occurred in the Tarzana neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Markeith Cungious, 35, was arrested on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, LAPD said in a statement to USA TODAY on May 2.
LAPD said Cungious and a victim, who TMZ reported was a woman, were involved in a dispute that escalated. Police accuse Cungious of firing a CO2-style handgun, which is not considered a firearm in California, at the victim.

USA TODAY has reached out to Brown's representatives for comment and was working to determine a legal representative for Cungious as of Saturday.
Cungious is currently being held at the Valley Jail in the city's Van Nuys neighborhood with bail set at $50,000, jail records show.

Officers spoke with both Cungious and the female victim after arriving at the property, according to TMZ's reporting. Cungious reportedly told police that an argument ensued when he asked the female victim to leave, adding that he fired at the vehicle after the woman drove her car over his foot. The woman then called 911, per TMZ.

Chris Brown welcomed his first child with model Jada Wallace, his fourth overall, the pair revealed in an Instagram post on April 26. The shooting comes soon after the "Under The Influencer" singer welcomed his fourth child.
In an April 26 Instagram post, model Jada Wallace introduced the world to their first child together. She shared a photo of a baby being bottle-fed without revealing their name or sex, writing "Purest love 💛."
The Grammy-winner commented, "❤️ Taurus ♉️ GANG❤️" (Brown, who was born May 5, is also a Taurus).
Brown is set to embark on a coheadlining tour alongside fellow R&B icon Usher this summer. The Raymond and Brown Tour will kick off June 26 in Denver and run through Dec. 12.
