When The Craft hit the silver screen in 1996, it changed the lives of many who were considered misfits and not part of the high school social scene.The movie, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary on May 3, showed us how to use our magic and morals to decide whether to embrace necromancy and the occult.
The supernatural film centers on four teenagers: Nancy Downs (Fairuza Balk), Sarah Bailey (Robin Tunney), Bonnie Harper (Neve Campbell), and Rochelle Zimmerman (Rachel True). It's a ‘90s dream — the outfits, the music and the terminology. The movie is a cult classic because many can relate to the themes.
As we honor the 30th birthday of The Craft, it's vital to take note of the astrology behind it. A Taurus sun and Scorpio moon dictate that the full moon's presence allowed the movie to not only speak to mystics, but also to those who are longing to enhance their lives and auras.

Although Grace attains her prosperity in an unfortunate way, it allows her to have a fancy couch, a Connie Francis jukebox and a baller apartment. Rochelle is a sensitive member of the girl gang who is protective of her emotions because she's being bullied nonstop by a diving team member named Laura Lizzie (a classmate who says horrible things to Rochelle). Cancers wear their emotions on their sleeves but don't easily trust. Rochelle connects with the water sign because she can process her feelings and is stronger than she knows.

Laura Lizzie appears to be the Queen Bee of the school, but that doesn't mean she is a nice person. Her racist actions and desire to hurt Rochelle prove that she is unkind. The only reason Laura connects with Leo is because of her popularity. Laura isn't a role model, but she gets hers in the end, deservedly, based on her horrible behavior and attitude.
Virgo: Mr. Bailey

Sarah's father, Mr. Bailey, tries to be a source of comfort when his child needs it most; however, she is unable to express her innermost feelings to him directly, as most teenagers cannot to their parents. Virgos are empathetic and sincere, always supporting those they care about, just as Mr. Bailey does throughout the movie, to forge a better understanding and relationship with his daughter.
Libra: Bonnie Harper

At first, Bonnie is shy and insecure, but after her transformation and glow-up, her self-esteem grows. Libras can be superficial because the sign is ruled by Venus, which appreciates beauty, as Sarah calls Bonnie out for after her surgery. The medical treatment, combined with the group's spell-casting, conjures up a remedy for her injuries. The results boost Bonnie's charisma and flirtatious personality, comparable to Libra.
Scorpio: Manon
Manon is the entity that Nancy, Sarah, Rochelle, and Bonnie summon and evoke, described as a force represented by the Earth, Moon and Air. It's safe to assume that Scorpio represents Manon's primal and potent energy, as the water sign possesses fierceness and authority and can navigate intensity. Like Scorpio, Manon's power can be used in many ways, so there is caution, which Nancy disregards.
Sagittarius: Mitt

Capricorn: Sarah Bailey

Sarah believes that one should be careful with how they use their gifts, discerning spells for specific cases, and not using them frivolously. Capricorns do not act impulsively and are cognizant of their actions, which is why Sarah is a sea-goat. Intuitive and practical at the core, Capricorns and Sarah have a connection to their ancestors and the world around them, making them magical.
Aquarius: Lirio

Lirio owns the local witch shop that the crew often visits to steal items from. She turns out to be a great source of inspiration, information, knowledge, and hope for Sarah (when the girls turn against Sarah). Pisces: Sarah's Mother

Sarah's mother may not be present in the physical world, but her spirit watches over Sarah. In the showdown between Sarah and Nancy, at the end of the movie, her mother fights for her from another realm. Pisces are the soulful caretakers of the zodiac who unconditionally love, making it apparent that Sarah's mom's affections are shown through the attributes of the tender water sign.
