Why Are The Products Being Recalled?

The jalapeño recall was initiated following an outbreak investigation into a multistate outbreak of food contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause salmonellosis. The foodborne illness can cause diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever anywhere from six hours to six days after eating contaminated food.

Illnesses began as early as June 19, 2026, and continued through July 20, 2026. This week, however, it was discovered that these dips sold at Whole Foods also include the same jalapeños that may be contaminated with Salmonella.

What Should I Do If I Have The Recalled Product?

Because we are past the best-before dates listed on the affected products, it is unlikely that consumers will still have the affected products in their refrigerators. However, some consumers may still have these products stored in their freezers. If you have the contaminated product, do not consume it; throw it away.

Contact your health care provider immediately if you think you may have developed symptoms consistent with a Salmonella infection. Also, carefully clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers the product touched to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
